About This Image

believe this is a sparrow hawk, or sharp shinned hawk. Taken out front of our house this afternoon.

well, it's sometime later now, and we have seen lightning blurred dive bombing flashes of this guy, hurtling towards one of our shrubs where the songbirds hide, so he is still around. We've never had this before here, in good weather, with a hawk hunting here. On the few snowy occasions here, the red tailed hawks have also come to our property to hunt, but never before during good weather.

Nice sharp photo. Maybe he's not coming around because you "shot" him.

thankyou Karen, Vicki, Carol, Alex and Tam for the praise re this one. Haven't seen him around here lately, guess it's due to the warmer weather now, more food for him elsewhere, glad to say.

thanks Dud : ) Well, that guy/gal has been here before, - have seen it enroute home from dogwalking, so run indoors for camera. The last time, all I got was "nothing", LOL, as it took off as soon as I lined the camera up. But today, the bird was more obliging and sat there for sometime. We feed the songbirds, so the hawk drops by here to get his dinner too, the wretch. Guess they all need to eat, right.

This is a great shot of a hawk. I do like it. It looks like it posed for you.
