thanks very much, Alex, Carol and Karen, for the encouraging comments. You're right Alex, it is hard to get everything perfect with these birds, that's for sure. This one hung around on the upper border on front patio area for sometime that day. Karen, in this shot, the hawk was just hopping up onto the wall, after he'd been sitting in the border area for awhile. He sat on the wall awhile longer, then took off.

You can't always get perfect lighting with wild things,you did pretty well here with the bright morning sun.Around here,they swoop in and they are gone before you can get a focus on them.
