About This Image

Another in the ball series. About 7 more to come. If you are interested the series of Gravity photographs were taken at a golf practice range. There is a small space surrounded by netting where people can practice their strokes. One day I saw this ball sitting on top of the netting. The netting was depressed by the weight of the ball.

Almost all the photos were taken from underneath the netting looking straight up, or nearly so. (The background is simply sky.) The sun was pretty low in the sky which accounts for the strong shadows.

All these pictures were taken with natural light only. The unique coloration was all done post processing.

Since the photos were taken straight up, there is no real true orientation for the photo. I experiment with a variety of angles.

Thanks for your comment. I was about an arms length from the net/ball when taking the photo. The apeture on this shot was f4.5.

Thanks for that - you had me wondering, as you don't use the graphic drawing software. I'd be interested in your proximity to the net - focal length etc.
