About This Image

I was looking through my photos from our trip to the Grand Canyon and found this one. They don't have all of the areas blocked off. In this shot you could walk right to the edge of the canyon. I was too chicken, one slip and it's a long ways to the bottom and it was downhill to the edge. I got as close as my brain would let me and took this photo.

Lovely scene with nice natural framing. Mostly I think of Az as desert and hot - and here you are getting so much snow, and we haven't gotten much of anything yet.

Stunning winter Grand canyon capture alan! I like the way the bushes frame it too. Great place, great shot. Don

Thanks very much Karen, Alandra, Carol, and Steve for your really nice comments. Alandra, I'm not really scared of heights, just the slippery footing lol.. Hey Steve, if you do get to the Grand Canyon be careful, every year people fall to there deaths in the canyon trying to get the ultimate view.

I'd probably be dead by now, in a heap at the bottom, 'cos I know I wouldn't be able to resist going to the very edge!! This is a great shot Alan, and I love the contrst between the red rock in the distance and cold white snow in the foreground.

Nicely framed and the snow and clouds add a nice touch.
