Another view of the South Rim Canal from the hiking/bike trail along the Herbert Hoover Dike. The birds were taken at the same time, it was terribly windy and they soared by, close to me, the updrafts carrying them along. 6 layers.

Thank you Alandra and Don. In truth, even though I added the birds in this instance, they were continuously flying very close to me in groups of three and more. I'd take one image and could virtually see their late afternoon shadows as they rode the wind currents directly overhead. it was wild.
