About This Image

Northern Flicker leaning waaay back on the suet feeder, beside our driveway. Captured from open front window, telephoto, earlier in the winter. These birds were known as Red Shafted Flickers earlier. There are also Golden Shafted Flickers, with gold markings replacing the red/orange feathers, but have never seen a golden one.
