Yes, the cannon can actually shoot. It was a blank but if you look at the smoke, then you can see the cannon is still able to be fired.

These are some of the reenactors who shot the cannon at the recent practice for the Battle of New Orleans reenactment that takes place each year. They practice on a monthly basis. I should say we since I am one of them.

What a great series Dud,I like this one the best because you caught the smoke from the cannon.Its nice to see that someone still keeps these old cannons working.

It was great fun and to fire a cannon in such an historic battlefield makes you feel a part of history.
