About This Image

A yellow finch came to our feeders after being gone for about a month and landed on the top of one of our trees.This was an early morning shot as the sun was starting to hit the garden.

I'd probably be inclined to crop this vertically, eliminating the space at either side, this is still a first rate, eye catching, photo. Nice work.

This is one of my favourite bird shots on this site. Some others may be spectacular, and some might be more descriptive of a particular species, but this image is not only a great bird shot, it's a great photograph as well. I love the sun-flooded bird against the dark and moody background, and the side lighting throws every leaf and feather into relief. Fantastic!
