About This Image

A fenceline in Pleasanton, CA. In the distance is the Livermore Valley. The rainy season is November through March. Two months later, by mid-May, as you can see the grasses have already dried out and turned a golden brown. By midsummer they begin to turn brown as they dry further, until mid-winter when the cycle starts over.

What a beautiful shot! I lived in Pleasanton for 7 years and even though the grass would die out, the golden brown looked so pretty on the rolling hills. I miss it up there....thanks for taking me back! ~Shawna
