About This Image

Quite often cycling past country landscapes, I'm struck by the melange of textures and colours. In this case the stripes almost looked like as flag as the wheat rippled in the breeze. (Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada)

can relate to what you mention. my mother took the greyhound bus across Canada years ago, and often remarked on the acres of wheat, and the skylarks singing when they were at rest stops in the evenings as they crossed Sask etc.
