About This Image

The 2-tone algae caught my eye in the pond. This was a morning shot on my way home from work and I though it was interesting and pretty, while uninviting at the same time. I sure wouldn't want to take a dip in there. Thanks for looking, Don

Well, tha algae does give a different and unusual view, but it is rather pretty until you know what it is.

For sure Don this is a interesting and unusual photo. I love all the different colors. All that is missing is some steam and a couple glowing eyes under the trees in the dark area LOL.. Great photo, I really enjoyed it...

Wonderful colors, even if it is toxic. At least the trees in the area appear healthy.

Thanks guys for the comments! Yes Alex, that is the place I shot the wood ducks. It's funny, last night I layered them in the lower right corner and they look cool there swimming through the muck. Don

Don, the alga gives this beautiful Fall scene a whole new dimension. I like it - and the subtle framing.

pretty capture and the title is great also : ) I notice algae where the herons feed too, and wondered how healthy it is. People dump all kinds of stuff in those streams, we saw a propane tank in one of them, not far from the heron.
