An amazing and beautiful image. I, too, think it may be the beginning of a mating sequence by the way the lower bird is sitting passively as that aggressive one moves in.

we glimpsed something similar as we approached the "eagle tree" a few days ago, but I thought it was a youngster making a bad landing, but we werent close enough to get a clear view of what was happening.

Down here in Florida the mating season has started. This looks like he may have been approaching her,from the way she's perching. It's a rare, and excellent shot - you were fortunate to be there. Well done
