About This Image

This is Drayton Hall on the Ashley River in Charleston, SC. This is one of the only surviving homes and legend has it that it was posted as a smallpox sanitorium to keep the invading forces away. This home is being preserved in it's original condition and not renovated as some others are. The other plantations around Charleston were largely damaged during the War Between the States.
The image was made back during my film camera days. Scanned and cropped to 499x499 pixels.
