About This Image

Today on my walk around the desert by my house I spotted a dove in it's nest in a Cholla Cactus. I slowly walked up and noticed one of her babies right in front of her. I took a few photos then went on my way. Dove are so pretty but there babies are well pretty ugly :-)

Hi Karen and Beverly... Thanks very much for your nice comments.. Yea the birds and other small critters use the cactus for protection. This Dove looks like it is out in the open, but with all of the Cholla Cactus arms going everywhere there was no way I could even get close enough to touch the nest.

Nicely captured wildlife image in its natural setting. I guess those cactus spines keep snakes away from the nest.
