About This Image

A distant view of some lightning hitting the base of the Hualapai Mountains. This was taken from my back door with my tripod set up in the doorway. I like it when I can do that, you are out of the weather and pretty safe.

Hi Gav and Anne, Thanks very much for your kind comments, I'm glad you enjoyed my photo and could smell the storm :) Gav, We really don't get a lot of lightning out here in the desert, it mostly comes around during monsoon season and that's just a couple months a year.

Magnificent!!! I can smell that lightning smell as I see the crooked awesome streak come flashing through the sky!! Of course, it looks as if it had struck a tree there in the woods. Beautiful scenery - a picture that will stay in one's memory!!! Great shot!

Another great lightning shot. Great composition with the cacti and brush in the foreground. Nice colours and dramatic clouds.
