believe this is a young heron. He got a bit close to the power wires near where we were parked, then he landed in this small tree which he seemed quite curious about. He kept looking out towards the water too. It seemed like he hadn't been flying for long. We noticed a lot of the heron nests were empty when there this evening. So guess several have already fledged.

thanks Carol, Janice, Alex and Beverly. The heron was looking out towards the water where the sun was setting to the west, so the lighting on him was nice.
