About This Image

This was taken at Australia zoo. This Boa was called Cuddles. I was not going near her but my daughters were keen. Thankfully Cuddles did not cuddle to hard

Karenmoeon thankyou for sharing that. I think I have got her name wrong. She is one of Steve and Terri Irwins snake. She was very docile and gentle

I like this shot. It is true that girls are more often willing to handle snakes than boys. I found this consistently while teaching Living Science classes to children. That is a Burmese python and many of them can become quite docile if they are handled frequently and gently. I had a female cornsnake that I used to bring to visit my classes. She was incredibly gentle and helped teach children not to be afraid No child was forced to handle a snake and it seemed the girls were more often willing to make contact. It certainly smashed the stereotype. Lol!

I was not getting near her at all. This snake is so placid they have a photo of her coiled up with the few week old baby lying on her and the snake looking at the baby. They say she is very maternal.
