Common Sulphur in Senna

About This Image

I was walking in a dry field and watched this Sulphur and a companion ovipositing inside the bud of the Senna plant. Never saw it before. I guess the egg will hatch inside the egg so the caterpillar will be able to overwinter. I have no other explanation, and I've never seen this before.

Sorry - The caption should have read "egg will hatch inside the bud". Thanks, Mary, for your comment. I uploaded several of my images to the Butterfly Contest. I hope everyone will like them. Great way to learn patience.
