About This Image

Steller's Jay in the snow, last November. He might have snow on his beak, or it might be suet from the suet cakes :) Captured from open front window, telephoto lens.

Living in Australia , i have never seen one of these beautiful birds in real life but your photo makes me feel as if i am there too. That blue is gorgeous!

Hi Anne, have only just noticed your nice comment, many thanks. We don't have these Stellars jays here this winter, not sure why.

What a beautiful photo of the Blue Jay. The photo is outstanding and so is the bird. Great job.

thanks Susan, I was thinking it would make a nice pic with the snow. The red cardinals really look wonderful against the snow, but we don't get cardinals here, sorry to say :) Infact, I've never seen one in real life.

thankyou Alex and Don. Don, it would be good to trade some birds, - just said the same to Alex and Carol.

thanks Lorraine. They are pretty, and quite comical. Also quite greedy and noisy, and let us know if we aren't out there with the food "in time", LOL

These are very pretty birds, love the colour of him.

thanks very much, Steve, comments appreciated, glad you like it. I like the pastel blue colour of the under belly feathers. He had a twig running right across his head and the entire frame, and I forgot to go back and fix his head tuft feathers :)

Hi Karen, thanks for the nice comments, -- this was taken earlier, we don't have any snow now.

Beautiful color blue. Can't believe you have snow! I bet the birds were surprised. They are lucky to have you to feed them.
