My place of work is the Toronto Harbourfront, I was leaving and walking to the train station when I saw this Heron, sitting patiently on someone's seadoo just watching the activity going on around it.

This bird is a regular visitor to the waterfront.

I see this same bird here in Alameda, (California) from time to time. Since they feed at night they are most likely to be seen either near dusk or dawn. You got a nice shot of this one.

The heron pictured is Charlie. He enjoys sitiing aroun Queens Quay watching. See National Post July 13, 2006

It is not uncommon to see a heron like this in the area. But usually they enjoy a secluded area not a busy waterfront on a Sunday afternoon. There were literally thousands of people passing by and it just patiently soaked up the scene.

that's really good. Have never seen this type of heron, and would like to. We've been out the past few days, hoping to see green herons locally, no luck so far. We have lots of Great Blue herons around here, but I'd like to capture some different heron shots also
