He's so funny looking I have to laugh when I look at him. It looks as if he's about to blow up. It looks like you snapped the picture an exactly the right instant.

He reminds me of the people on Wall-e, where they hadn't gotten out of their chairs for so long that they were all just a giant round mass. Great shot.

I've never seen a barking tree frog or even a nighthawk before. It would be a great experience. Also the noise must have been intense on your eardrums. *g* But I love to hear the peepers in the springtime. Just wish my husband was still alive so we could listen together again. I loved the picture. *g* Wonderful capture of an exciting moment. Great picture!!

Nice shot. Have never seen a frog getting ready to call before. At first I thought he was just really fat.

Vicki, Thanks! The last time we went to 17 Frog Pond it was a noisy and exciting night. Between the noise made by Common Nighthawks booming just after sunset, the military shooting all kinds of guns and exploding bombs and the dog barking like calls from hundreds of barking Tree Frogs it made for quiet the night. The real reason we went was to find the elusive Pine Barrens Tree Frog, no luck finding them although we did hear calls.

You deserve a great deal of credit with these shots. Looks like a lot of patience and a calm mind are called for. Excellent work.
