Yum. I just want to grab one and eat it! Like Steve, I find the purple cone very interesting. Who would have thought a banana tree was that fascinating??

Hi Steve the Purple cone is protective waxy pettles i surpose. under each individual purple pettle is another set of small white flowers that the bananas grow from. I hope I have described it ok. Thank you both for looking and leaving a coment

Fantastic shot, Tania! So what's the purple cone shaped part of the flower? The green bananas are obviously the fuits, with the other flower parts dying off at their tips, but whats this cone thing?! Anyway, a fascinating capture.
