About This Image

I have been doing many other things with my camera with the shortage of Lightning and this is one of them.
This is my 2nd attempt, this time I put a black sheet in the backround and it seems to look a lot better than I my first shots.
I also tried to capture water balloons popping on my Childrens face, you wouldn't believe how tough the balloons get !

I used a shutter remote and continuous shooting to capture the whole event. I used a dart to pop the balloon and was in full manual mode at 1/750 of a sec for shutter speed and F9.5, with the black bacround I didn't have to worry about DOF.
I used my Pentax *ist Ds with it's 18-125mm sigma lens.
Any questions just ask, I'm very happy to help.
I hope you enjoy !

Hey Alan, sorry for the late reply and yes the kids are very happy not to be targets any more, I told them that there just lucky I didn't keep them in the freezer over night ! Your right about the black backround, I didn't put any up from the first attempt because the backround killed every shot, used my lovely wifes black sheets to create a screen of sorts and it worked so much better than I had expected. Now the sheets are on the bed so I'll have to wait now for the next adventure. Take care.

Great Job! I bet the kids are glad you gave up on using them LOL.. Not much lightning out here this year, I did luck out and got a couple nice shots. I like the black background it really helps to make the balloon and flying water stand out. ~Alan~
