About This Image

To get to and from Taranaki to points north you travel along SH3. There are two tunnels on the route, this is the Awakino tunnel, it is one way and runs beside the Awakino river.

TY have you seen all the road reconstruction they are doing on the road north? I thought at one stage they were going to widen the tunnel but looks like the road just north, the long straight and on up the hill.
