About This Image

This is a rather common worm which builds a shelter from duckweed and debris. As soon as the light from the scope hit the microscope slide, the creature doubled over inside of its tube, thus reversing its position. This view is of the north end of the worm going south. There are also several small colonies of vorticelli attached to the tube, a few of which can be seen on the left.

Thanks for viewing!!
