About This Image

This little building is situated at the crossing of two county roads, one of which is a main thoroughfare. Any ideas as to what the building was?

Thanks for viewing!

Maybe a blacksmith shop and selling a little Moonshine out back, I love these pictures you can let your imagination run wild. Carol

I guess that it could be almost anything. Because this is still a main intersection, it is likely that there was a small village there at one time. It's about six miles from the nearest other similar place & six miles is the distance a team of horses could travel before needing to be watered. I did notice that this building has windows placed so that a view from all directions was available. Maybe the owner was "up to something" and needed to see who might be coming.

When I first saw it I thought a store of some sort and then I let my imagination and hunger get hold of me. It could have been a bakery with the front windows showing the goods and the side window being a place for the pies to cool.

Thanks! I thought a small grocery store, but hey, maybe an early "C-Store"?

Looks to me like a Old Garage or Filling Stations they used to call them in Maine. Nice Photo. Carol
