Many thanks to Mary Shem, Alandra, and Mary Slade for your comments. I looked up anthurium in my dictionary and it wasn't there. I wanted to find out if it really was in the lily family.

nice photo of the anthurium, Talsi. I have, or had, a green one on my gallery, can't recall if it's still there or not : ) - it was in an Easter bouquet my DH gave me last year.
