About This Image

This is a view of the other side of the church.
Notice that some of the windows are boarded up. I was told that they were removed and sold sometime in the past. The sign on the lawn says "Supported By The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation".

I hadn't noticed how the shadows lay on the Church roof above the gables. This is so beautiful. We still have the stained glass windows in our little church here but I know they are marked "To be removed - in order to preserve them." *LOL* Our windows carry the name of donator on them. There are 4 windows from my family - I often wonder where they will go.

Nice composition. It looks like a beautiful old church - too bad they have had to sell off some of the windows,

To Alandra - I didn't know their proper name and yet wanted to comment. *g* I hope I didn't lead you astray. *g*

also wanted to comment on the shorter "towers" beside the door, - wasn't sure what to call them, so have copied Anne's name for them. I love them too, have never seen that type of structure on a church before, it's really appealing.

What a grand entrance, shame about the windows being sold off, nice old church.

I love the little towers by the door. They remind me of Snow White and 7 dwarfs. *g* Isn't it sad how the beautiful colored glass windows from our old churches is being sold. By a miracle we still have ours but their sale (or their removal anyway - but where to?)is being contemplated!! The conference can make a lot of money from their sale. Loved your picture.

oh, the architecture showing here is wonderful! I wonder how many Brides and Grooms stood at the top of those steps under that lovely archway/entranceway, to have their wedding portraits captured. Perhaps the boarded windows might be restored at some time, - that would be really nice.
