About This Image

While volunteering at WP Franklin Lock Campground at Alva, Florida last Spring, this unusual vessel came twice for several days. This boat was custom adapted with the outrigger for kayaking trips as far away as Alaska. As narrow as the main boat is, she boasts 8 (decidedly narrow) staterooms, with a large dining/sitting room. The kayaks are lowered in the space between the main boat and the outrigger. The Caloosahatchie River is an ideal area for such trips during the winter and spring as manatees, alligators and an abundance of birds keep everything lively.
