About This Image

I rack my brain trying to come up with my favorite place. Then it became obvious, that my favorite place has to be the Heckler barn, in Lower Salford/ Harleysville, PA, where my family staked its claim of the American dream over 250 years ago. This barn was built by an ancestor 11 generations before me and this land brings me a sense of pride and serenity.

Thank you Alovely! I also like the electric blue sky and green of the trees in contrast to the texture of the building. Thanks for viewing and commenting!

Beautiful achitecture! The textures of the building are wonderful. Interesting what Alfresco mentioned. It does look as though it might have been meant for such a purpose. Wonderful capture Jru.

Well these were German mennonites so I would believe they were non-violent, but I'm unsure of that. The roof needs critical repair but it is in relatively good condition. Thank you for viewing.

Nice architectural shot of a historic structure in remarkably good condition. Could those vertical slits in the stonework be intended for defensive musket positions as well as ventilation?
