About This Image

Another Great Egret from the Venice Rookery. The distance from lens to bird was about 60 feet. This was an awesome display of nature. Incidentally, there were about 60 other photographers there, all taking the same shots.

This one won first place (not the Grand Prize) of the Great American Photo Workshop Shootout. The result is another workshop with GAPW at Glacier NP in July. I cannot wait!

fabulous shot. echoing all the other comments. Love the underside wing view. Would love to even SEE one of these Great Egrets, have never seen one in real life yet. Lots of Great Blue Herons in our area, will have to look further for Great Egrets : )
