About This Image

This campground, by the Lower Rim Canal of Lake Okeechobee is full of "Kodak Moments" wherever one looks. I'm helping with Arts and Crafts down here and am always keeping my eyes open for natural items to use. It's necessary to keep my camera handy each time I hear a new birdsong!

Thank you, Talsi - I also wondered if it was a young bird as some of its feathers are still somewhat downy.

Nice capture and good composition.

Thank you, Don. I kept inching closer to it, hoping the top of my head or my camera lens weren't too tempting a target!! (It happened to me up north a couple of years ago - by a seagull - right after we disembarked from a lighthouse tour - several people enjoyed my embarrassment!!)

Nice clean shot of the bird. I like the angle. Don

Thank you both for your comments. I'm sure you're camera would be clicking non-stop down here, Alandra. The framing came from another shot of the same bird enlarged so that only the wing was visible, then filtered with an "old paper" effect. I wanted to enhance the bird's colors more subtly.

very nice, Vicki and the frame suits it perfectly. Interesting also to see and hear about the different birds in your area, would love to see them and hear the different songs.
