About This Image

Just a little ways from my house I spotted this old Chevy truck yard art in someones front yard. They sure did not make them very aerodynamic back then LOL.. It sure would be nice if this old truck could talk, I bet it has some fun stories it could tell. Thanks everyone for the help, I changed the name to what it should be..

Hi Matt, Thanks for dropping by and commenting on my photo, I'm glad you enjoyed it.. That old truck is a yard decoration at a house just a little ways from mine. No drought, well sorta.. I live in the Mohave desert, mostly just cactus and brush.
Matt - Sep 27, 2010 07:56 AM EDT
Great shot, good old simple vehical, not so much stress, or plastic. Are you near a desert or had a really bad drought ?

Hi Ann, I'm glad you liked my photo.. It does have a face looking design to it with a lot of teeth and big eyes :-)

Hi Alan. I have never left a comment on this capture. Sorry about that as this is such an interesting capture. I enjoyed reading the info on this photo. Front view in an abstract way looks like a face. :-)

Hi Dfwehman, I so glad that you enjoyed my photo. I was just driving around and saw this one in someones yard, I know nothing about it. This one is in Golden Valley, Arizona. I'm car and truck crazy and then for the icing on the cake I get to take photos of car shows and be right on the track taking photos of the guys racing at the Kingman Street Drags. I hope you took some photos of your truck before and get some when your done with your truck, I would love to see it. Oh I'm Alan not Alex ROFL...

Alex, this photo really touched my heart! I bought the same truck 5 years ago, mine is nearly restored. I'd love to know more about this one, where is it?? dfwehman@gmail.com

Hi Alex, I'm glad you enjoyed my photo and that it made you feel at home.. Guess I should take more photos from the drivers seat of my car LOL..

Hi John, It does look pretty cool in the corner of there property. It would be a good fixer upper, lots of room for a blower under the hood LOL.. Hi Claudia, I never thought about close ups. I would have to use a bigger zoom, they have doggies LOL.. Those bales do look pretty weather beat. With so many hits on this photo I guess I better go back and see what I can take.

Hey Bubba, this image is sure getting everyone talking, that's a good thing!I love this old truck also,I would like to see some close up's of the detail in the rust.I wonder how many years those bales have been sitting on the back? Wonderful texture, and vintage.Great shot!
DragNutscom - Sep 28, 2009 04:03 PM EDT
Nice pic, boy I sure wished I owned that truck. It would be sitting as yard art....
bubbalinn - May 15, 2009 10:59 PM EDT
Me too Brian :) They all sure have a look of there own. When this one was new it was someones pride and joy. I can see it now, shiny rims, glossy paint job, big chrome rear view mirrors, and a nice loud horn.

Hi AZBang, Bruce, and Alex, Thanks very much for the great comments and help with this truck. I did a search and found it WOW... You were all right on with it from the Jeepers Creepers show. It was fun seeing this old truck going down the road. Alex you got it, it's a 1941 Chevy Cab Over Engine. I posted this photo over at the Route66WingsAndWheels site and will update my info about it today. Thanks guys, you have all been great helping me out :) Now I need to do some reading about the Jeepers Creepers show. If I remember right that show came on at midnight.

A great shot of a 1941 COE(cab over engine) 1 1/2 ton truck.
Alfresco - Mar 31, 2009 12:09 AM EDT
About 1946 vintage Chevy Cabover, I think. Cool!
AZBang - Mar 30, 2009 11:10 PM EDT
Wasn't that the truck used in the movie "Jeepers Creepers"? Do a Google search!
bubbalinn - Mar 30, 2009 09:33 PM EDT
Hi Beverly and Chriss... Thanks very much for your nice comments :) I'm glad you liked the rust colors Beverly, nature does do a good job at painting things.. Hey Chriss I'm a car nut and will enjoy any photos of things on wheels you can find.. I'm always watching for old cars or hot rods or classic cars or, or, or....
chriss35 - Mar 30, 2009 06:59 PM EDT
Lovely Alan, I haven't anything as old as that but I will try and see if I can come up with something soon, thanks for sharing have enjoyed viewing Chriss:)
