Yes, this is a good area for an assortment of wildlife, - just wish I'd started capturing their images years ago, but better late than never :) Course, it's all relative, as back then, I didn't have the cameras and lenses available these days. These are cute little beggars, - lately it's been warmer and they've been cooling their undersides off in our fountain bath, on the front patio. They sort of lean their front half into the water for a few minutes :) - with their hind end hidden behind the plants at the back of the bath. Soon I imagine they'll be bringing their new babies with them, - we haven't seen any of the real tiny ones yet.

We haven't seen the blind Mama raccoon for 5 days now, so are a bit concerned that something's happened to her. Maybe the new baby she has now is starting to move about, so this might be keeping her from leaving it, until it's old enough to follow along with her.

Have wondered & hoped the same, Karen, about it being the "lost" baby of the blind mother raccoon, but don't think so, as for a long time, it came here with another mother raccoon (one with a short tail) and a sibling raccoon, which I believed to be a female youngster, as it remained with the mother longer than this one, until just recently. Have read that the mothers keep the young females with them for about 14 mos, but they boot the young males out at around a year. So this one's been roaming about alone for a few months now.
