Our First Snow

: Our First Snow; We just had a nice snow storm pass through Arizona. It was just enough to make things white then a hour or so later it was all melted. I took this shot from my back porch while the snow was coming down. I don't do this snow photo stuff very often, all the colors got washed out. I noticed on the weather channel you are starting to get some winter. With it getting down to 14 degrees here for two days, the water lines are breaking. I like the snow on the desert cactus and all - It's an unsusal sight. Here we have only had about 4 days of winter, most of the time it's been around 60 - which is a lot higher than it should be for this time of the year. I am ready for some snow.

Alan, couldn't disagree more with your self-deprecating comment! I think this image really captures in incongruity of snow on desert plants, and conveys the message very well! And the whole point of snow is that it should wash out the colours!

Glad you enjoyed my cactus covered with snow Alandra. It's 6am here and it's 18 degrees. I have the fireplace going along with the house heater, and some coffee and I'm still freezing.
