This large bug is a Weta found woundering around the top of our sun unbrella,I think it lives under the vent and was scared out by the wind flapping wildly on a sunny day in Auckland.I'm pretty sure they are blind naturally and these long senses come out from where the eyes used to be,they are protected and often scare people that are not used to them just by their appearance.I think it is a Bull Nose Weta.
