Thanks for commenting Mary, Whittler, Carol and Alandra. And yes, I do live in a beautiful area, but I have found that each place has a beauty of it's own. I belong to a number of hiking groups and just pick and choose which ones I want to do based on the elevation gain as I cannot do the ones with an elevation gain of 0ver 1000' due to a lung condition. I try to hike twice a week on the 4-5 mile hikes. Doctor says excercise is the best thing I can do for my condition and this is my preferred form of excercise.
