What an unusual shaped building, very attractive and different.

Hi Steve, your comments are always welcome, no problem. Infact, I do know what you mean, as found myself thinking the same thing about not liking the building as much as I thought I did :) Strange thing is, the building seems more impressive when you are actually "there", looking at it in person, than it does in the photo. Hard to imagine "why". And you are right, the camera certainly can "select" what it wants to be shown.

Nice shot Alandra, and interesting to read about your equipment bonanza!

Strangely, and this is no criticism of your shot, I like this building less architecturally now that I can see all of it, and in colour. bjmakows' image is an object lesson in how the camera can, if not actually lie, then certainly select!

Hi Alex, as always, thanks very much, your comments are valued and appreciated. Wondered if anyone would recognize this one as being the same scene as bkmakow's image from sometime ago, - you are very observant. I must go back and look at his to compare, believe it's in b/w?

-- got the 5D last November or so, when I got the 70-200L lens, - hadn't planned on that, but there was a flyer on the wall at camera shop, advertising a worthwhile rebate if you bought certain combinations of Canon items, - so as I was buying the 70-200 right then, decided to get the 5D as well and get $800 rebate. I couldn't really believe we'd get that large rebate, but we did! Haven't really used the 5D that much, as there arent as many auto choices on it as on the 20D :), and I don't like reading manuals, lol, but really must take time to get a grip on it, as it's a lovely camera.

Got the 16-35 versionII Ultrawide lens a few months ago, when we returned the 100mm macro lens, as I couldn't seem to get the feel for the macro lens. Love the 16-35 tho', and use it on the 5D to get the full benefit of it with the full frame.

Very nice. I recognize this is the same location as the bjmakows Vancouver15 shot. Great subject and you managed it well. Love the subtle tones you captured. Did you get a new camera and wide angle lens? You really jumped in with both feet. You must be happy with the selection. I look forward to more of your submissions.
