Thanks Alovely. The name of the tree is Foothill Palo Verde.

What wonderful texture and color. This is such a wonderful photo to

view. Gminniss what is the name of the tree?

Thanks Doug and Dud. Doug, I am doing more of that lately than I was doing when I took this photo. I use Photoshop to adjust the levels and then I usually increase the saturation a bit. Also, I sharpen the photo a little. Most of this is done to compensate for the camera I am using. It just doesn't seem to pick up the available colors as much as I'd like. Of course, one can overdo those processes too much. I try to be restrained in my tinkering.

This is a pretty picture!! I love the way the background brings out the purple flowers.

A lovely scene, try dropping the levels a bit and increasing the contrast slightly to pop the colors out. Well done.

I did post a shot of some red penstemons in this series that I took yesterday, but they probably don't look like yours.

penstemons, yes, we get those here, the hummers love the red variety.

Was just looking at the photo again, and it would look great on the wall I bet! great shot.

Another wonderful shot Gary.

Thanks, Alandra and Jim. The flowers are Whipple beardtongues. Part of the penstemon family. Everything here looks so great this year because of all the rain we had earlier.

Nice shot Gary. The tree makes a great backdrop for the flowers.

great shot, Gary, really pretty and great composition, and contrast, with the nice coloured tree branches and the lovely coloured flowers below. Are they foxgloves? probably not, but I don't know about desert flowers.
