Lincoln

A very old timber-framed building just outside the cathedral precinct in Lincoln.

This was my childhood mental image of "old"!

Thanks Vicki - not sure about the windows - I was only in Lincoln about 10 minutes on the way home from my mum's!

Great old tudor-style building, Steve. Does it still have some of the wonderful swirled leaded-glass window panes? Great input, Mike - I really like the added info - it gives everything more life.

This photo has a "storybook" quality/look to it. Very nice capture of the street scene and architecture. I also noticed the brick/stonework on the building to the right...it looks old too! :)

sorry been busy nice piture steve , and intersting to you have in the frame old shopee circa 16-17 centuary then next to it build which is about late 19-early 2 centuary and then a good old red phone box ! and finally info time mate High in the Angel Choir, at the top of one of the columns, is the stone carving of an imp mischieveously mid-laugh, sat with one leg accross his knee. Although probably just the result of an imaginative stone mason there is an old story as to its origin. Legend has it that when let out to play by the devil, this little imp was blown to Lincoln by the wind. After causing mayhem in the Cathedral, he sat at this column top to survey his bad deeds and was turned to stone by an angel.

Another lovely older building image. I like the fact that you included the people sitting on the benches.
