Great shot, and it displays great skill on your part for observing interesting picture possibilities in things most people would ignore.

I think it might be worth considering cropping a bit more from the right hand side of the image, perhaps up to the second vertical line in the wall. This would make the image narrower and thus relatively taller which would emphasise the upward thrust of the steps. It would also move the main flight of steps away from the dead centre of the picture, improving the composition, I think.
