Snowy Owl in the Wild

sleeping Snowy Owl, Boundary Bay, British Columbia. Close to home. These Snowies spend most winters here. Am happy to finally get some photos of them! Thought I'd missed them for this year, but am told they leave in March. There are some whiter Snowies there too, but they were further away.

Thankyou Mary S from England and Dudley. they really are beautiful and am surprised at their size.

Don't know that much about them, Dud, - am not sure where they go to when they leave here. I want to learn more about them.

thanks very much, Mel. Agree that it's quite a rare chance (at least for us : ) - to get a photo of a snowy owl in the wild. I had thought it would mean scrambling over loads of washed up logs beyond the beach, and was afraid to slip and drop the camera, but they were closer to the dyke road than expected the day we got there.

What a gorgeous cuddly bird! You have been lucky to get this photo.

Very nice.

had wondered the same thing, Janice, re him squinting from sunlight, and maybe they don't see that well in the daylight, altho one did take off while we were there.
