ANAS at sunset

The ships in the picture are part of the "mothball fleet" at the Alameda Naval Air Station(ANAS)located on San Francisco Bay. The base is decomissioned and now under civilian control, but these ships (USS Hornet aircraft carrier (currently a museum) and its support fleet) are still in based there.

This shot was taken from the fishing pier which originally was part of the break water for the Navy ships. In the distance you can see the skyline of San Francisco.

Nice capture, many of these mothballed ships, some from WWII, still anchored in the bay, are dissappearing as they are sold for scrap.
