My "House on Wheels"

My "House on Wheels"

Many of you have been traveling the US with me for the past two years and know my lifestyle. I live full-time in a 30 foot fifth wheel RV with three slides and love it. At the campground we're staying out I've been able to use my screen house as my sewing room - this morning a red-bellied woodpecker was trapped inside - and very unhappy that I took too long to show him the way out!

Can do, Steve. I may even have one already - I'll go look . . . Vicki

Vicki, could you take a picture of your wonderful home when it's all hitched up and ready to go? Despite your clear explanation, my stupidity is still preventing my mind's eye from forming an accurate impression!! :)

I love this lifestyle, Beverly, but it doesn't work for everyone.

If the thought appeals to you, consider renting an RV for a week or two during a vacation. It's really nice to travel knowing you don't have to wait for the next rest area, or stop and fix a bite to eat without having to look for a restaurant. Also - it's a great feeling knowing that you never have to lug suitcases from motel room to motel room - or worry about what you left behind. Vicki

I envy you your lifestyle of traveling. Would love to do that for awhile, but would never get DH to agree.

You're looking at the back here Steve. That's where my living room is. My sofa and kitchen table and chairs are in that slideout. My kitchen is in the middle and the bath and bedroom are upstairs, in the front. This is a fith wheel RV. My pickup truck slides under the bedroom and connects to the trailer via the kingpin and the fifth wheel in the truck bed.

It's a good life. This site was a nice one and we met some great new neighbors - many French Canadians who were here for the winter. You would be quite at home here with your French abilities! Vicki

Really great to see your "pad" Vicki. Somehow I seem unable to work out what's the front or the back of your RV, or in which direction it might move!

The camp site looks lovely as well! I think your nomadic lifestyle is truly exciting, and rather romantic!
