Red Rose

Red Rose

I darkened the rose by doing a 'multiply' with a solid black layer, blurred the background slightly, removed a piece of another rose, and set it on a red and black border.

It is always amazing to me how the scenes can seem to come right out of the picture. Magic of the best kind. A lovely and mystical rose. A gift to us of rare beauty. Thank you, Brian

I think the depth and shading of this rose is just wonderful. Like it is reaching out from the darkness for just any sun.

Very poetic.

Beeautiful. I love the vivid colors. Reminds me of the flowers of artist Georgia O'Keefe

I like the fine detail of the red rose. The texture and the up closness of the rose, if you relax, sit back and study this red rose, it can or mean a thousand things. I just like the beauty of it all. The color is just beautiful and its alive and blooming. Just like we as humans should be. Alive and blooming and ready to take on the world.

The picture is stunning, I think I would have liked it better without the plain red boarder as the pitcure stands up well by itself.

This is just gorgeous - the colour red is so intense but the yellow stamens still manage to capture my attention. The green leaves give the picture overall balance and contrast to the red. I like the subtle space between the petals and red border created with the black. Congratulations!
