Balanced Rock with Face

: Balanced Rock with Face; This rock stands at the site of an Indian ruin, about 30 miles from my home. The Hohokam Indians lived here about 900 years ago. I would guess the balanced rock has been here for many thousands of years. As I looked at it, I wondered it the Indians believed that this rock was a god. Thanks. I had a lot of choices for lighting. Clouds kept passing over, so some of my shots are shaded and some in sunlight or partial sunlight. The wind was blowing very hard and the high desert can get quite cold. I didn't have a coat or sweater, so I was freezing by the time I came down off that mountain. That sort of added to the eerie feeling, I think.

interesting shot, Gary, and thanks for explanation, - fascinating and you're probably correct about "the face" rock being considered some sort of god. Can understand about an eerie feeling associated with it too. but something a person wants to investigate further : )
