I put dry cat food out for ours and the whole family comes in different sets at different times during the nite. Too dark to get photos tho.I started doing this when the babies were climbing the bird seed feeder poles.

yeah, it's not good if they get too "at ease" around people, as there are some who would harm them.

Just checked my pic and it was no good, blurry, guess when the mama was growling I rushed lol

very cute shot, Fella. Our mamas and young come out here in daytime too, (must be related : ) I was out back yesterday afternoon and the one mama with the 3 younger babies appeared, - they don't seem to see that well in daylight, guess due to being nocturnal, - anyway - so when the babies suddenly realized I was there, they all rushed up one of the tall cedars lol, - DH went and got the camera for me, but this mama got a bit worried when I was between her and the babes up the tree, so only got one shot, and decided to leave them alone, as she was growling and the babes were "chortling" to her, kinda worried sounding.

Haven't seen the mama with the 3 older babies (that I took pics of earlier) lately. Should check that pic from yesterday and see how it turned out.

Am sure ours don't have rabies, they look too healthy. Think it's a case of the mothers protecting the young from the older males who come out at night, by bringing the babes out in late afternoon.

Nice photo...they are so cute. We are warned if we see them here in the daylight...they could be rabid. Our Raccoons only come out after dark.
