In my opinion, I like the way the shadow starts at the top of her head and the light is in her face. It makes a cheery effect to me.

Nice looking girl, no question. Yet you need to work on the lighting, lighting is everything to make a good photo great. Try overcast days or early evening light. Stay away from bright sunlight.
