It is a parade celebrating St. Joseph's and St. Patrick's day. Many throws are thrown from the floats including cabbage, onion, garlic, potatoes, Mardi Gras beads, carrots, cucumbers, and many other items. If you go to a parade, then you do not have to shop that week.
