Randy, southeastern Arizona is my favorite part of the state. All kinds of history, such as Tombstone and the huge area where Geronimo and his band roamed. Also, there are several mountain ranges which rise from the desert floor to an elevation of several thousand feet. I have spent time in the summer camping out on the peaks of these ranges. It is nice and cool up there and you can look down at the desert floor where the air is literally shimmering with the heat waves. The entire area is in Cochise County. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The shot was taken in Arizona, northeast of Phoenix about 50 miles. The nearest highway is called the Beeline. It goes between Mesa and Payson, AZ. The mountain is known as Four Peaks.

such an appealing contrast here, - the cacti in the foreground have a pleasing "haze" over them, formed by the spikes, which gives the misleading idea of softness/fuzziness somehow, which of course we know isn't correct. And the mountains in the background in a contrasting colour to the cacti green, --you have an eye for capturing great scenes.
